This studio is located in a historic area of Lisbon – Belém. The apartment was renovated and decorated to think about your convenience and includes a double bed plus a double sofa bed in the living room, a bathroom with shower and a kitchen with all accessories. The apartment has everything you might need during your stay and the rent includes Cable TV, wireless internet access, bedding and bath.
Belém is Lisbon’s historic district with the highest concentration of tourist attractions. Jeronimos Monastery and Belém Tower, both monuments from the Age of Discoveries, are just a short distance walk form the studio. Even closer is the Carriage Museum (my favorite), with its marvelous collection of royal ancient cars. But there are many other museums nearby: the Archaeology Museum, the Maritime Museum, CCB (Belém Cultural Centre) and the Electricity Museum, among others. Belém is also the greener district of the city and only historic area where you can easily park for free, making it a popular destination for families every weekend. Staying in Belém is to benefit from the proximity of the Tagus river, huge lawns (excellent for a picnic) , a botanical garden, kids playgrounds, countless restaurants, cafes and several spots where you can practice sports (Soccer, Tai Chi, Cycling, Jogging, Sailing). There are two bikes available for free in the appartment so that you can explore the charming riverside area of Belém and the Lx Factory area (a new cultutal and food spot with flea market every Sunday). Also, the Pastéis de Belém (you can’t leave the city without trying at least one of this custard pies), are a short distance walk, on a street where you can find a tour desk, a kiosk with foreign newspapers, crafts shops, banks, pharmacy and plenty restaurants of typical portuguese food and also international food. You can park for free in front of the apartment, in case you want to rent a car and go visit Sintra, medieval Obidos village or romanic Évora, just to name a few suggestions. If you want to combine your stay in Lisbon with trips to the beaches, take the boat at the dock of Belém and go to the south bank or take the train that connects Cais do Sodre (one of the main nightlife zones, very close to Chiado and Bairro Alto) to Cascais and 15 minutes later you will be at one of my favourites beaches and one of Lisbon surfers favorite spot: Carcavelos.
