The beautiful neighbourhood of Gracia, though close to the central part of the city feels like a whole new authentic world. Until the late XIX century Gracia was an independent municipality called Nostra Senyora de Gracia, meaning Our Lady of Grace. And it most certainly is! Gracia has plenty to offer and is definitely among the best areas to choose if one is visiting Barcelona. One of its most attractive landmark is the notorious creation of Gaudi - Parc Guell, located on the El Carmel mountain and his first important work Casa Vicens. Another thing the district is famous for is the so called Festes de Gracia held in annually in August. During those magical five days the streets of Gracia are competing with each other by creating the most beautiful and creative decorations. Besides extremely beautiful and enchanting the area is also fully self-sufficient. Needless to say, you can find everything you are looking for there and feel like you never want to leave. The abundance of bars, restaurants, shopping possibilities and transport connections is impressive. And no Barcelona day is finished without enjoying the sun in one of the lovely little squares Gracia has hidden in between its streets.
