Zone Description

Trastevere was, above all, a popular district inhabited by artisans and small traders attracted by the proximity of the docks on the south of Tiber Island.
Trastevere has never lost his popular character; poets who celebrated Rome in the local dialect have always found a response there.
All along the noisy Viale di Trastevere, the side streets are packed with stalls and coster’s barrows beneath the benign watch of Madonnas lit up by small lanterns.
On summer evenings the quiet squares are transformed by happy family groups eating out in the open air; a charming aspect of the Roman way of life.
Very close to some of the most tourist places like Anguillara Tower, San Crisogono, Santa Cecilia, Piazza Trilussa, Basilica of St. Mary in Trastevere.
