The road to the UNESCO World Heritage list has been a long and bumpy ride for Dubrovnik Old Town. Having been damaged badly numerous times, whether it has been earthquakes or armed conflict. The Old Town is the center of major restoration program coordinated by UNESCO. Sometimes referred to as “the pearl of the Adriatic” Dubrovnik, and especially the Old Town, really is worth a visit. The very well-preserved city walls surrounding the Old Town add to the amazing cultural and historic feeling that engulfs you in the neighborhood. The beautiful Stradun (sometimes referred to as Placa) is also situated in the Old Town. Stradun is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee while breathing in the nice sunny weather and the general atmosphere of the neighborhood.
