Sarrià - Sant Gervasi is one of the biggest districts of Barcelona, neighbouring Gracia, Eixample and Les Corts. It was formed by the former villages of Sarria, Vallvidrera and Sant Gervasi de Gassoles. Today, the neighbourhood still has kept some of its village atmosphere as it is quaint, quiet and it feels a world away from the hectic city centre. It is largely residential which is why if you are looking for a lovely family vacation this is the perfect place to be. You can find endless cosy cafes, patisseries and authentic Catalan bars. Sarria - Sant Gervasi isn’t well-known for its nightlife but rather with being down-to-earth, calm and secure - suitable for more of a traditional type of vacation. Don’t get us wrong though - it is in no way boring and there are plenty of things to see and experience as well. Including the Tibidabo mountain with its spectacular view over the entire city. There are also an amusement park and the science museum CosmoCaixa, which are very suitable for children. The bars and restaurants in the area, in their authenticity, are mostly visited by locals, which is a great starting point to get into the Catalan culture and mentality. If you however crave more international crowds and venues, Sarria - Sant Gervasi is perfectly well connected with the rest of the city by both metro and train. Take a real break from your hectic life by choosing this lovely and sensible district and experiencing the true Catalan culture.
